About this event
The Drakensberg Northern Trail takes runners deep into the breath-taking northern reaches of South Africa’s iconic Drakensberg Mountains for an unforgettable trail running experience.
The weekend’s main attraction is the 40km Mountain Challenge, a demanding yet rewarding journey across rugged terrain and sweeping high-altitude views. For those looking for something shorter, 20km, 10km, and 6km routes offer equally inspiring adventures for runners and walkers of all levels.
Since its debut in 2015, the Drakensberg Northern Trail has stood as one of KZNTR’s flagship events – a true celebration of endurance, exploration and mountain spirit.
