About This Event
Set in the heart of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, near the meandering Mooi River, this inaugural trail run unfolds across the beautiful 270-hectare grounds of Treverton.
Founded in 1963 and growing from a preparatory school into a full prep-to-matric campus, Treverton offers a scenic and welcoming setting for a day on the trails. Runners will move through wide open grasslands, pockets of forest, rolling farmlands and past tranquil dams, all set against the natural charm of the Midlands.
The routes are designed to be flowing and enjoyable, with gentle climbs, rewarding views and smooth descents that bring you back toward the race village and college grounds. Expect a mix of open spaces and shaded sections, varied terrain, and a true countryside trail experience from start to finish.
This is an approachable event — perfect for newcomers wanting to try trail running, while still offering enough variety for those looking to run confidently and push their pace.

The course was a good mix of challenging and enjoyable. The beautiful views made it easy to push through the challenging parts. One thing that could be improved was where the route markers were placed. There were one or two times where I nearly got lost when the route markers where placed in a way that it was unclear where to go. Aside from that, I had an amazing race experience!

Enjoyed the change of the course and scenery. What made this run unique was the stampede of Zebras and Blesbuck that I had experienced at close quarters. The fact that there was 3 water stations was welcome for the medium run.
