The Marketplace lists entries other runners can't use. Buying one moves the entry into your name, often at less than the original price.
How to find an entry
- Click Marketplace at the top of any page.
- Search with Search events or races..., or choose an event from All Events.
- Set a price range with Min R and Max R, and sort with Newest First, Price: Low to High, Price: High to Low or Race Date.
- Click Search.
- Click a listing to see the Event Date, Distance, Location, Seller Notes and Listing Price.
How to buy an entry
- Log in. On the listing, click Purchase This Registration. If you're not logged in, the button says Login to Purchase.
- If your athlete profile isn't complete, you are asked to complete it first.
- Check the Confirm Purchase page: the Registration Price, what You Save and the Total.
- Click Proceed to Payment and pay through PayFast.
- You see Payment Successful! and the entry is moved into your account.
Who can buy
- You must be logged in with a complete athlete profile.
- You must meet the race's age and gender rules.
- You can't already be entered in the same race.
- You can't buy your own listing.
- Entries can't be bought in the last 7 days before the race.
If something stops you, the listing shows Unable to purchase with the reason.
What you receive
- The entry becomes yours and shows on My Events. It keeps the same registration number.
- Any bib number the seller had is cleared. The organiser gives you one.
- Any extras the seller bought with the entry, such as a T-shirt, stay with the entry.
- You get an email confirming the purchase.
- Your purchase shows on Marketplace, My Purchases.
Common questions
I paid but the entry isn't in my account yet
After payment the page says it is finalising the transfer. Give it a few minutes and check My Events. If it still isn't there, email support@raceconnect.co.za with the race name and the time you paid.
It says "You are already registered for this race"
You already have an entry for that race, so you can't buy a second one.
Can I get a refund on a Marketplace entry?
Once it is yours, it is treated like any other entry. Ask the organiser about withdrawing, or list it on the Marketplace yourself if the race is more than 7 days away.
