Paying in instalments

Split your entry into payments, pay each one, settle early, and what happens if you miss one.

Some events let you split your entry into a few payments instead of paying everything at once. You pay the first payment when you enter and the rest before a final date the organiser sets.

How to choose a payment plan

  1. Fill in the Register page as normal.
  2. Under How do you want to pay?, choose Split into the number of payments shown. It tells you what you pay today, how many more payments there are, how much each one is, and the final date.
  3. Tick both terms boxes and pay the first payment.

Your entry is confirmed once the first payment goes through.

How to pay the next instalment

  1. Click the Pay button in the reminder email, or open My Events from the menu under your name.
  2. On My Events, find your plan under Payment Plans. It shows how many are paid and what is Outstanding.
  3. Click Pay installment (with the instalment number and amount).
  4. Pay on the payment page.

The link in the email works without logging in.

How to pay off the rest early

  1. Open My Events and find your plan under Payment Plans.
  2. Click Settle balance. It shows the full amount still owing.
  3. Pay on the payment page. The plan is then complete.

You can also pay the next instalment early at any time with Pay installment.

Reminders and missed payments

  • You get a reminder email 7 days and 3 days before each payment is due, and on the day.
  • If it isn't paid, you get reminders 1 day, 3 days and 7 days after the due date. The 7-day one is a final notice.
  • 10 days after a missed due date, the plan is marked as defaulted and handed to the organiser. You and the organiser both get an email.
  • Your entry is not cancelled automatically when the plan defaults. The organiser decides what happens to it. If you still want to race, contact them as soon as possible.
  • If the race is cancelled, you are not asked for further payments.

Good to know

  • The first payment can be a few cents more than the others, so the total adds up exactly.
  • The later payments are spread evenly between the day you enter and the organiser's final date.
  • A plan is only offered if the organiser has switched it on, the final date hasn't passed, and your total is above any minimum they set.
  • You can't change the number of payments once you've started a plan.

Common questions

I don't see the option to pay in instalments

The organiser hasn't offered a plan for this event, their final payment date has passed, or your order total is below their minimum.

My plan says defaulted. What now?

A payment was more than 10 days late, so the plan was handed to the organiser. Contact them directly. Their email is on your entry page under Organizer.

Can I pay everything now instead?

Yes. On My Events, click Settle balance on your plan.
