Selling your entry

List an entry you can't use on the Marketplace and get paid when it sells.

If you can't run a race you've entered, you can sell your entry to another runner on the Marketplace. When it sells, the entry moves to the buyer and you are paid the full listing price.

How to add your bank details

  1. Click Marketplace at the top of the page, then My Listings.
  2. Click Add Bank Details.
  3. Fill in Account Holder Name, Bank Name and Account Number. Add the Account Type and Branch Code if you have them.
  4. Click Save Bank Details.

You need bank details before you can list, so we can pay you. To change them later, click Edit Bank Details on My Listings.

How to list your entry

  1. Click your name at the top of the page, choose My Events, and click View Details on the entry.
  2. Click List on Marketplace.
  3. If you haven't added bank details, click Add Bank Details first. You are brought back afterwards.
  4. Type Your Listing Price (R). The page shows what you paid and the maximum you can ask.
  5. Add a Description (Optional) for buyers if you like.
  6. Click List on Marketplace.

Your entry now shows under Active Listings on My Listings, and anyone can find it on the Marketplace.

How to change or cancel a listing

  1. Click Marketplace, then My Listings.
  2. Next to the listing, click Edit to change the price or description, then Save Changes.
  3. Or click Cancel and confirm to take it off the Marketplace. Your entry stays yours.

What you can and can't list

  • The entry must be confirmed and fully paid. An entry on a payment plan can only be listed once the plan is paid off.
  • You can't list an entry after it has been checked in.
  • You can't list, and nobody can buy, in the last 7 days before the race.
  • You can't ask more than you paid for the entry. You can ask less.
  • Add-on entries such as pacer or spectator passes can't be listed.
  • Each entry can only be listed once at a time.

Getting paid

  • When your entry sells, you receive the full listing price. RaceConnect takes no fee.
  • The entry moves to the buyer as soon as they pay, and you get an email.
  • Payouts are made to your bank account by our team, usually within 3 to 5 business days.
  • While you wait, the payout shows on My Listings as awaiting processing. You get an email when it is paid.
  • The sale shows under Sold Listings with the date and price.

Common questions

I don't see the List on Marketplace button

The entry isn't eligible: it isn't fully paid, it's already listed, it has been checked in, it is an add-on entry, or the race is 7 days away or less. Check the rules above.

It says "Price cannot exceed the original entry fee"

Your price is higher than the entry fee on your entry. Lower it to the entry fee or less. Extras you bought with the entry, such as a T-shirt, don't count towards the maximum.

When will I get my money?

Usually within 3 to 5 business days after the sale. The payout shows on My Listings until it is paid. If it has been longer, email support@raceconnect.co.za.

Can I sell my entry to a friend directly?

Your friend can buy it on the Marketplace once you list it. Or ask the organiser to transfer the entry to them. See "Changing your entry".
