You can fix your own name and personal details yourself. Switching to another race or giving your entry to someone else is done by the organiser, so you need to ask them.
How to fix your own details
- To fix the spelling of your name or change your email, click your name at the top of the page, choose Account Settings, change First name, Surname or Email on the Account tab, and click Save.
- To change your phone number, date of birth, emergency contact, medical details or club, choose Athlete Profile instead, change the details and click Save profile.
Organisers see your current details on your entry, so the change reaches them straight away. If they have already printed race lists, let them know too.
How to ask the organiser for a change
- Click your name, choose My Events, and click View Details on the entry.
- Find the Organizer card and click their email address. You can also reply to your confirmation email, which reaches the organiser.
- Tell them your full name, your Registration Number, the event and race, and exactly what you want changed.
- For a change of race, say which race you want to switch to.
- For a transfer, give the email address of the person taking your place.
If the organiser doesn't reply, use the Need help? card on the same page. Its email link goes to RaceConnect support with your event and registration number already in the subject.
Switching to another race
- Only the organiser can move you to another race at the same event.
- Your entry must be confirmed and fully paid first.
- The new race must have space, and you must meet its age and gender rules.
- Your bib number is cleared when you move, so the organiser gives you a new one.
- Switching doesn't change what you paid. If the new race costs more or less, sort out the difference with the organiser.
Giving your entry to someone else
- Only the organiser can transfer an entry to another person.
- The new person needs their own RaceConnect account with a complete athlete profile. Ask them to sign up and fill in their profile before you contact the organiser.
- They must meet the race's age and gender rules and not already be entered in that race.
- An entry can't be transferred once it has been checked in.
- The bib number is cleared. You and the new person both get an email when it is done.
- Whether money changes hands between you is up to you. To sell your entry to anyone through RaceConnect, use the Marketplace. See "Selling your entry".
Common questions
Can I change race myself?
No. Email the organiser from the Organizer card on your entry page with your registration number and the race you want.
My friend can't run. Can I give them my entry?
Yes, through the organiser. Your friend needs a RaceConnect account with a complete athlete profile. Then email the organiser your registration number and your friend's email address. Or list the entry on the Marketplace and let someone buy it.
My name is spelt wrong on my entry
Fix it yourself under Account Settings, Account tab, then click Save. Your entries show the name on your account.
The organiser says the transfer can't go through
Usually the other person hasn't completed their athlete profile, is already entered in the race, or doesn't meet the age or gender rules. Ask them to finish their Athlete Profile, then ask the organiser to try again.
